The Cost Of Living And Pet Food

UK Pet Food and our members are unfortunately all too aware of the current challenges facing family household bills and the increased cost of many everyday essentials – and how this is sadly making it hard for many owners to easily balance caring for their pets in such difficult times.

Similarities can be drawn with the food sector, as the pet food industry is also operating in a volatile environment grappling with the rising costs of ingredients, energy, transport, and packaging, brought about by global events. UK Pet Food is working hard behind the scenes with our members, Government, and the wider food sector to minimise any disruption and to help support pets and their owners during this current crisis.

More broadly, we are also in ongoing discussions with welfare organisations such as RSPCA, Blue Cross, Dogs Trust and the Canine Feline Sector Group, to discuss how we can work together to support those owners and pets who are most vulnerable.
