Butcher’s Nourishing Food now in recyclable packaging
At Butcher’s we take great pride in doing everything we can to care for our planet, taking responsibility for minimising the impact that our packaging and manufacturing processes have on the environment.
In 2018 we relaunched our Butcher’s Nourishing Food range. As part of this range review, we took the decision to move towards using more recyclable packaging, so much so that all our Butcher’s Nourishing Food for Dogs is now in recyclable packaging. All our plastic shrink-wrap packaging from our multi-pack cans has been removed and replaced with fully recyclable cardboard, which has saved over 564 tonnes of plastic over the last 4 years. Our steel tins and foil trays are also fully recyclable and the film we use for our Nourishing Treats is recyclable through local carrier bag return schemes at local supermarkets.
And making the right environmental choices hasn’t just stopped at our packaging. We’re also taking action to minimise the impact that our manufacturing process has on the environment. All rainwater is collected from the roof of our factory and used to power our toilets, whilst we also harness solar energy from the solar panels on our roof.
And in 2021, we embarked on a sustainability project in our factory which has been designed to help us reduce our carbon footprint, saving 150 tonnes of carbon annually, whilst also helping us to generate 85% of our own electricity.
Having just celebrated 4 years of recyclable packaging, we take great pride in ensuring that we continually work towards a greener and more sustainable business.
